Navigation When creating my website I had to ensure the navigation of the site was clear and easy to use. To do this I created a navigation bar along the top of the page which had clear headings in a simple font. The buttons were hyperlinked to the appropriate page. HTML forms When creating my website I had to use the coding to put the YouTube trailers in and also to embed paypal. This is done with html coding. This is used with anything on the web. Audio and visual elements I have 6 trailers on my website that have both audio and visual elements. They were embed by the code and placed in the right place to ensure that the customer could view any of their choice. Hierarchy This tool separates parts of the page in order of importance. This can be done through size, colour, font or shape. On my website I have the film roll picture the biggest with the ‘Kingswood School Film Club’ below it. This allows the user to see straight away what the website is for. Under this image I have the navigation bar just under this as it is important for the user to be able to see how to use the site. This shows the difference in importance and functionality.

Online Applications- Online applications applications are things such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Online applications have the functionality and data on a server which is accessed over the internet so you may only need an internet connection and a web browser to use them. They don't need anything on your computer to download them as they are fully hosted tools. Changes on these tools are easy to do and not very pricey. Web 2.0- A Web 2.0 site will allow users of the site to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators of user-generated content in a virtual community. In addition to websites where people are limited to the passive viewing of content. Examples of Web 2.0 include social networking sites, blogs, wikis, video sharing sites, hosted services and web applications, these would be sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Blogs- Blogs (short for web-log) could be anything from a webpage for a school account for posting work onto, or even just your thoughts on something which you then posted on the internet. Mostly blogs are based on an particular subject and this way people can communicate using these such as if somebody were to post a blog about cycling, users could comment on the blog to get their view across and then this could start a debate on the matter. As a result of this i believe blogs are a good way to communicate using the internet. Cloud Computing- Cloud computing is the use of computing resources (hardware and software) that are delivered as a service over a network (usually the Internet). The name comes from the common use of a cloud-shaped symbol as an abstraction for the complex infrastructure it contains in system diagrams. Cloud computing entrusts remote services with a user's data, software and computation. An example of this would be an App on your phone, such as Facebook or Twitter, which you can use at anytime anywhere as long as you have a connection to the internet

Download speed- Download speed is important factor to how efficient I can do the work. If the download speed is slow this will affect how fast I can edit my website as I may need to download certain software to help me create my website. PC performance factors – The PC performance factors will be important when creating my website. For instance if the browser doesn’t support my webpage I will need to download a new browser which may take more time that I should be spending creating my webpage. The memory of the PC may not be to the capacity of what I am looking for. For instance I may have images or videos and if the processor speed is slow this will slow down my work and will then take longer for me to make the webpage. This is why I need to make sure that the processor is a good speed so it won’t slow down the creation of my work. Web server capacity – If the web server that I am using to create my webpage doesn’t have the right capacity I will need to find a new server which can support the capacity that I need to run my webpage. Such as if I have a lot of videos the server doesn’t support my videos this will cause a problem for my webpage and the efficiency. Hits – Another factor that may affect my webpage is the number of hits I can have on my page. For example some websites cant attain lots of users all at once so my webpage should be flexible to this in order to deal with this. File types – The file type that I will be using is JPEG or bitmap. I have chosen this file type as they both support my page as the camera I use uploads them as these images. So this will then be more time efficient for me. When I upload videos I will upload them in a MP3 or MP4 format as these are both high quality video types which can be used in HQ standard view.

Evaluation of Danny's work.

I have looked at Danny's product and it all works well and is fit for purpose. It informs people about the Media course and what the course entails. The product doesn't look very professional as it doesn't even have a logo. The media used in the product is very appropriate for the purpose of it. It has pictures, however there is only 3 one with the media room, the door and a student on the computer. This doesn't really show me what work gets done on the course etc. However There are no obvious errors on the product and everything works correctly and smoothly. I feel that overall the product is professional. I think this because the same font is used throughout the product which makes it look neat. Improvements - Put the logo on the top of each page. - Get more pictures to show the potential customers what is done on the course. - Put more information on the units to give them a better understanding on what the course involves.

When creating my product I had to consider the legal requirements. This included copy right and plagiarism. Copyright means I am unable to use someone else’s photo/video without their permission. There will be no copyright on the images I used in my product as I took them myself. Also if I wanted to use a piece of text from the internet I would have to quote the website link in order to use it, this would mean that I have not plagiarised. I have avoided plagiarism in my work as I have written it all myself.
